Laserfiche Accessibility Policy Statement

Statement of Intent

Laserfiche's vision is to inspire people to reimagine how technology can transform lives. Our vision embraces all people.

We strive to empower individuals of diverse abilities to realize the full potential of our products. To realize this goal, Laserfiche considers the accessibility of its products throughout the software development lifecycle – from design to testing.

As a part of our ongoing commitment to improving the accessibility of our software products, Laserfiche publishes accessibility conformance reports for its products that follow the Voluntary Product Accessibility Template (VPAT®) format. We will work with customers to resolve reported items in accordance with our remediation policy and prioritization of issues, as described below.

Compliance and Standards

Laserfiche products are designed and developed with accessibility in mind. We regularly test our products to assess conformance with the following accessibility standards and regulations:

  • WCAG 2.2 A/AA: Ensuring web content is perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust.
  • Section 508: U.S. Federal accessibility standards for electronic and information technology.
  • EN 301 549: European accessibility requirements for ICT products and services.

Conformance to the WCAG 2.2 Level AA standard is the basis of our approach to compliance with Section 508 and EN 301 549 requirements.

Remediation Policy

Laserfiche is committed to resolving accessibility issues in all products and services currently covered under our active support lifecycle. Under our remediation policy, we evaluate:

  1. Customer Feedback: We encourage customers to report any accessibility issues they encounter. Feedback can be submitted through the in-app feedback form or by contacting our support team at accessibility@laserfiche.com.
  2. Issue Assessment: Reported issues will be assessed by our accessibility team to determine their impact and severity, but we encourage all accessibility reports to include descriptions of their impact on users.
  3. Resolution Timeline: We prioritize the resolution of accessibility issues based on their impact on users. Critical issues that significantly affect accessibility will be addressed as a priority.
  4. Communication: Customers who report issues will be kept informed of the status and resolution timeline. Other customers can passively monitor our changelogs for accessibility-tagged items.

Prioritization of Issues

For timely and effective resolution of accessibility issues, we follow a prioritization policy:

  1. High-traffic and public pages: Issues on high-traffic and public-facing pages are prioritized for the most significant impact on accessibility.
  2. Severity of impact: Issues that severely impact the ability of users with disabilities to access our products are given the highest priority.
  3. Compliance deadlines: Issues that must be resolved to meet legal or regulatory deadlines are prioritized accordingly.

Continuous Improvement

Laserfiche aims to continuously improve the accessibility of its products. We conduct regular reviews, provide training to our development and design teams, and engage with stakeholders to assess our products against evolving accessibility standards. Accessibility conformance reports, including Voluntary Product Accessibility Templates (VPATs), will be updated regularly:

  • Quarterly updates: Conducted to reflect new features, changes, or improvements.
  • Post-audit updates: Following each major accessibility audit.
  • Significant changes: Whenever major updates or new releases impact accessibility.
  • Customer requests: Prioritized updates to meet customer needs.

Communication with Customers

We will communicate updates to customers through the following channels:

  1. Email notifications: Customers who report accessibility issues will receive email updates on the status and resolution timeline.
  2. Website announcements: Major updates and improvements related to accessibility will be announced on the Laserfiche corporate site and changelogs.
  3. Customer support: Our support team will provide updates and answer questions via phone, email, or live chat.

Best Practices

It is best practice for all organizations implementing Laserfiche software solutions to assess their own compliance needs, keeping in mind applicable laws, rules, and regulations prior to implementation and on an ongoing basis thereafter.
